The gig on Friday (10th of September) with the Dead Heroes Collective at The Cabana was a lot of fun! We played a set of 10 songs and had the place nicely warmed up when DHC hit the stage to record their EP.
Here’s a couple of photos taken before the show:
There are rumours that some of our set might have been recorded, so stay tuned and we will let you know as soon as we know
We are filling in for a band this Saturday at The Cabana in Napier. Our set is an hour long, so expect a couple of randomly selected cover tunes to be thrown in
Also playing is a local acoustic duo, Jacque and Chris, and young local band Oktoba2May.
A great time was had by all at the Mile High gig on the weekend. The Ninja Monkeys went ape and just really enjoyed themselves, despite a false start and a few bum notes!
Check out the three latest videos from the gig – we have “Go Away”, “Drowning”, and possibly the best ever version of “Gone” that we’ve done. Thanks to Stephen Briggs for filming the songs for us!
Go Away
Drowning
Gone
Our next gig is this weekend at The Cabana – will be a set of around 45 minutes, doing our seven originals plus maybe a jam and a couple of covers to fill in the time. We’re playing with an up and coming rock instrumental band called Oktoba2May and an acoustic duo will be kicking off the night from about 8:30pm.
Watch this space for info on new merch, EPs and upcoming gigs!
Ninja Monkey will be playing at The Cabana on the 12th of June with JR And The Acoustuds, Billys Gospel and Valve Inc.
We have two new originals to debut, which are coming along very nicely
They are called ‘Breathe In’ and ’Out Of Nowhere’.
Ninja Monkey played their first gig on the 13th of May 2010 at The Cabana in Napier. The show went really well, and the crowd seemed to very much enjoy it.
We played four songs, three originals and one cover. The performance was recorded on a digital camera, which did a better than expected job
Here’s the videos of our three originals:
The first song is called ‘Coming Home’
The next song is called ‘Hold On’
The last song is called ‘Gone’
Plans are afoot to play a short 5 song set (4 covers and 1 original song) at the monthly ‘Muso Night’ at The Cabana in Napier sometime in January. Date still to be confirmed.
